Our Story
Noctis Interiors is a woman-owned, Honolulu-based interior design studio specializing in luxury residential and boutique commercial projects. With architectural interiors at the forefront of our process, we create thoughtfully built spaces designed to grow and evolve alongside our clients. While furnishings are an integral part of our work, the true foundation of our designs lie in the built space. Every project is deeply personal, tailored to reflect each client’s lifestyle, vision, and way of living.
Our highest priority is helping homeowners, business owners, and developers bring their dreams to life. We believe exceptional design is achieved through strong collaboration with architects, vendors, and contractors. These relationships are what brings us to a refined end result.
The name Noctis, meaning “of the night” in Latin, draws inspiration from Hawaiʻi’s native and endangered Blackburn’s sphinx moth. Like this remarkable creature, we are guided by a pursuit of light - while embracing the mystery, depth, and complexity found within the dark.
Our Founder
Liz McClellian has spent over a decade on Oʻahu, first studying architecture at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and later working professionally across both architecture and interior design. With more than six years of industry experience, her background brings a strong architectural foundation to every project, ensuring spaces are not only beautiful, but thoughtfully built with seamless integration of details.
Driven by a lifelong passion for design and a belief that learning never truly ends, Liz approaches each project with curiosity, intention, and care. She is deeply inspired by Hawaiʻi’s clean, airy, and coastal aesthetic, an essential language of this special place, while also embracing the moodier, more dramatic qualities shaped by volcanic landscapes, overcast skies, and the island’s quieter moments.
At the heart of her work is a desire to create spaces that evoke emotion, tell a story, and gently challenge convention. Liz’s designs aim to break the mold, offering clients environments that feel both grounded and unexpected—timeless yet distinctive, refined yet deeply personal.
